Last night's movie excursion was "The Devil's Rejects" with Graham and Michele. For anyone who hasn't seen the first installment, "House of 1000 Corpses", the two films are gruesome, morally wrong on a deep level, and dark enough to actually bridge into comedic - which makes them entirely worthwhile. Of course, in saying that, I feel guilty. They're the type of movies that cause you to stifle your laughter, cause you're rooting for the bad guys, in a "come on, they have to get away with it" sort of way.
Tonight's venture was "The Island" with Dave. Very "Brave New World" if you ask me. It would have been a much better movie had it dealt with the actual ramifications of the set-up and less with the gun-fight, stunt-car-driving action sequences that made up the better part of the second half. It's worth checking out, however, if you'd like to see Ewan McGregor acting against himself in a clone-meets-original situation. Double your pleasure, double your fun!
The movie was, however, blessed with an amazing quote:
"What is God?"
"You know when you close your eyes and wish for something? God is the guy who ignores you."
I don't believe that - but I enjoy it nonetheless.

I've been to the movies a lot recently - so much so, that I have the Movie Watcher's Network Pre-Show Countdown memorized. First, the Nike commercial - then the Coke commerical - then the Fanta commercial. Every time. Like clockwork!
Over the past two weeks, I have seen "Dark Waters", "Wedding Crashers", "Willy Wonka", "The Devil's Rejects", and "The Island". This month, I also saw "Batman Begins" and "War of the Worlds" twice.
As I said, I've memorized the pre-show commericals. Dark movie theaters have become my summer.
